What is the Event all About?
Where will the event be held?
The event will begin at 1165 Angelina Street, Austin Texas, in front of the Carver Museum. Shortly after noon, participants and attendees will walk/proceed down 11th Street and will end at the Texas State Capitol.
Is there a fee to participate?
No. There is no fee to participate. However, you must check-in and receive a green wristband from the EGPGC to be recognized as an official participant in the event. Wristbands will be available at the check-in site in front of the Carver Library before the event begins at noon.
What about Parking?
Free limited parking is available in the Carver Museum parking lot and public street parking is available but may be limited, so please arrive early. Free limited Private lot overflow parking is available at Kartwheel Studio, located at 1905 E 12th Street- at the corner of 12th and Chicon Street. This location is a few blocks away from the Carver Museum. Please be advised that you are responsible for securing your valuables. EGPGC, the Grassroots Law Project, nor is the property owner responsible for any lost/stolen valuables. Also please respect the property by packing out what you pack in.
Who can attend and participate in this event?
The 2nd Annual Unity Walk March for Marvin event is open to all who wish to see Marvin Guy freed and to those who want to see an end to No-Knock Raids across the state of Texas. There will be an armed formation, but carrying a firearm is not required to attend the event.
Are there any COVID restrictions or protocal?
While there are currently no COVID health screenings that are required for this event, we do encourage everyone to wear a mask. Masks will be provided to those who need one and will be available at the check-in site in front of the Carver Museum. Social distancing is also encouraged and will be practiced during the event.
Will any refreshments be served/available?
There will not be any refreshments for sale at this event. Attendees are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather and also bring enough water to stay hydrated throughout the event. While water may be available in limited quantities (at no charge), supplies may be limited and is not a guarantee.
